Welcome to Dave Frackenpohl's official website. Dave Frackenpohl is a jazz guitarist, teacher, composer, and author. In addition to his CD, refractions , Frackenpohl is author of A Practical Guide to Jazz Band Guitar (Mel Bay) and composer of several jazz guitar ensemble arrangements. (Mel Bay). He is an Instructor of Jazz Studies at Georgia State University.
Refractions is an album of 10 fresh original compositions set in a mainstream/contemporary jazz format. Produced by Justin Varnes (who also plays drums on the project), Refractions finds Frackenpohl performing with: Mace Hibbard - sax, Gordon Vernick - trumpet, Louis Heriveaux - piano, and Robert Dickson - bass.
